CALL US TODAY STATEMENT OF SOLIDARITY WITH THE BLACK COMMUNITY
Many in Canada and elsewhere are protesting against anti-Black racism. Sparked by recent incidents, the protests have grown to encompass frustration over the continuing presence of racism in Canada and the lack of progress on this front. Canada has a long history of racism and systemic racism continues to be imbedded in our society. The pain and anger exhibited in these protests is well founded.
North Peel & Dufferin Community Legal Services is committed to anti-racism. We will continue to provide an inclusive service and to work in solidarity with others toward a vision of equitable access to justice for all.
All of us, as organizations and individuals, need to recognize the presence of racism and actively work against it. Systemic racism in Canada needs to be called out and eradicated. Justice for all is long overdue.
