About Our Legal Clinic
We are a non-profit community legal clinic funded by Legal Aid Ontario. We are not part of Legal Aid Ontario: we are a separate, community based non-profit corporation.
We give people living on a low income in Brampton, Caledon and Dufferin County free legal services for certain problems. Learn more about how we can help you.
We can:
- give you legal advice
- prepare tribunal applications
- represent you at some tribunals and courts
- refer you to other agencies when we can’t help
We also give legal information sessions for members of the public and other community agencies. Contact us to find out more.
And we always work to improve laws that affect low income people in Ontario with our community partners.
A community-based board of directors is responsible for setting the strategy and providing oversight for our community legal clinic.
Confidentiality
All information you give us about your legal problem is confidential – whether we are providing you with advice, referring you to somewhere else for help or representing you at a court or tribunal. The only exceptions are if we hear information that shows a likelihood of serious harm to you or others or if we get a request from Legal Aid Ontario for financial information that shows that you qualify for our services.
Free Legal Services
All services we provide are free. However, if you can afford it, we will ask you to pay us back when we have to pay for things needed to help you with your case: for example, a doctor’s report or court filing fees.
